Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
What on earth is a CSA???
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA members support a local farmer by paying a set fee during the winter, which entitles members to a share of the produce during the harvest season.
What will I get?
From June 3-October 21 you will get produce weekly from Isabelle Farmlocated in Lafayette, CO. There are many benefits to joining a CSA, but just to name a few...
Delicious, locally grown organic produce picked the same day; Peace of mind knowing that you are eating food grown within 35 miles and that you are supporting the local economy;
An opportunity to eat seasonally, which will give you more of a connection to agriculture (something most city dwellers have lost).
How do I get my delicious veggies?
Every Thursday during the season between 4:30-6:30PM you can pick up your weekly share of produce at Ekar: Urban Jewish Farm (6825 Alameda Ave, Denver- next to Denver Academy of Torah).
What makes this CSA different from all other CSA’s?
The Minyan Na'aleh Hazon CSA offers all of the benefits of a traditional CSA with the added bonus of forming connections within the Denver Jewish community. As a member, you will have the opportunity to meet like-minded people who are committed to building a stronger community and supporting the environment. We will gather together for meals, classes, and other programs to form connections with one another and discover the link between Judaism and agriculture.
How much does it cost?
Just like a financial investment, participating in a CSA means you are investing in a local farm. You will not end up paying more than you would purchasing organic produce at the store, but you do have to pay up front. A large share, which will feed a family of four or more costs $630 per season and a small share, which will feed 1-3, costs $420.
Interested in participating but not sure you can commit to an entire share? Email us: [email protected]
