Minyan Na’aleh is thrilled to return to in-person Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services at Congregation BMH-BJ. Services will be lay-led and egalitarian and will be held BMH-BJ's outdoor sukkah.
Due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, these services can accommodate no more than 50 people at one time. We are therefore asking individuals to sign up for their preferred time and service. It is possible you may not be able to attend all services.
We will not have child care available due to COVID-19 restrictions. All services will be a maximum of 2 and a half hours in length.
Registration closes for this service on August 21, 2020. Late registrations will not be accepted. All seats will be assigned so walk-ins and late registrations are not possible.
If you are signing up for others who will be attending services, please list all participants full name(s) below. *Please note that you may only sign up for someone that you are willing to sit with (not social distance) such as immediate family. If an individual requires separate seating, please have them fill out their own form.
Further, there will only be one egalitarian seating area and not be a tri-chitza, as Minyan Na'aleh has had in the past due to our partnership this year, as well as the social distancing spacing requirements.
Please note: If you are not comfortable attending in-person services, Congregation Rodef Shalom will also be offering live streamed and Zoom services, to which everybody is welcome.
Due to the overwhelming response we have institued the following requirements:
1. Anyone attending must arrive in a timely manner and remain in your assigned seat for the duration of the service. You will have an assigned seat that you will need to claim before the start of the service. These services, unfortunately, are not an opportunity for schmoozing. FYI- due to recommendations, services will not be any longer than 2.5 hours.
2. We cannot accommodate children under Bnai Mitzvah, except for nursing babies. This directly impacts all of us who are planning for these services but it is the reality of the situation this year with our limited space. Given additional security needs this year, we just don't have anywhere for children to play or be during services. We cannot wait for a day when we can go back to being a heimish shul with kids running around; unfortunately, we are not there yet.
3. Teenagers and adults who would like to be at services are most welcome. However, we ask that you only register family members who truly want to be there. There are a limited number of spaces, and, unfortunately, there is not room for everybody to be at the services they have requested, and there is no space for "schmoozing" outside the service. We will be sharing details regarding a preteen/teen service at a separate location.
4. Only one person will be allowed into the building at a time to use the bathroom.
5. Just a reminder- *masks will be required for the entirety of the service.* In addition, All participants are expected to screen for symptoms at home. Please do not attend if you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, or other COVID-19 symptoms. Please do not attend if you have been tested for covid and are waiting on the result. Please do not attend if you have had a close contact with covid in the last 14 days. Please do not attend if you have been traveling away from home in the last 14 days.
6. Following services, we ask that participants leave the premisis. We will need to disinfect for the next service. Any conversations that happen after the service must include 6 feet of separation space.
We are also exploring the option of offering an additional service later in the morning. Finally, we will be offering a live Yizkor service on Yom Kippur afternoon that will be separate from the morning service. Yizkor will not be included in the morning service.
We will send a new registration link to all individuals that have already registered to better understand your preferences given the above requirements.
Again, we miss davening and connecting with you but we are so grateful to find a way to come together in a safe and responsible way.

TICKETS: A ticket, photo ID and mask are required for entry. Tickets are FREE but you MUST obtain your ticket in advance. To reserve your free ticket, you must SIGN UP here. More information will be provided regarding the location and security procedures.
THE SERVICES: Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur services will be spiritually energizing, with much of the traditional liturgy in an egalitarian setting. Services will be shortened per health recommendations to 2-2.5 hours. As noted above, we will not be offering a "tri-chitza" or childcare.
OTHER HIGH HOLIDAYS SERVICES: Please note that we are not offering Mincha/Ma'ariv for Rosh Hashanah.
